Love this. Unfortunately most people won't even notice or care. They think their food comes from a supermarket shelf, not "the environment". Many modern humans have completely lost their connection to nature, and the only thing they might notice is when their ski season gets worse/shorter, or their favourite lake to go "boating" on is increasingly covered by blue-green algal blooms due to pollution and climate changes.
Unfortunately, you have summarised the state of things quite well. That's why this information needs to continue to find its way into the public sphere. I'm doing my best :)
